Updating the Beach Boys on cd Pt.2

Continuing backwards I did pick up a number of other newer cd versions of late and we might as well kick off here.
The Beach Boys albums begins with 1962's Surfin' Safari, a fairly basic set of surf, car and teen scene songs that include the single Surfin' Safari, a remake of Surfin', their first record in 1961, Ten Little Indians, a second 1962 single and the surf instrumental Moon Dawg that showed  promise when it came to playing and arranging a track.
This super audio cd is all mono as there's no stereo mix.
That was followed by March 1963's Surfin' U.S.A. which included the Chuck Berry re-write title track that managed to mention all the States, the drag racing number Shut Down, a Brian Wilson masterpiece in the form of the Lonely Sea and two surf instrumentals Let's Go Trippin' and Misirlou.

Because this originally had mono and stereo mixes, you get both on this which as it has been ages since I heard them was well worth getting.
Surfer Girl issued September 1963, was a break through as while on the surface it seemed a mainly surf based album when the Surf Sound was riding the charts with Pipeline by the Chantay's and Surf City by Jan & Dean topping the charts, chief writer/composer Brian Wilson was getting the hang of making exceptional arrangements and using jazz influences.

Lyrically In My Room was a breakthrough, exploring what it meant to be alone, Surfer Girl was a paean to female surfers that showed the Beach Boy's amazing harmonies off while Boogie Woodie showed piano based jazz influences.

This also has noticeably different mono and stereo mixes, the Mono surfer Girl with its vocal gi-gi-girl enunciation differing compared the straight girl in stereo.

This album emerged one month after Surfer Girl being a protective grab the tracks and release as two tracks had been used by Capitol Records, their recording label for a Hot Rod compilation against their wishes.

Thus it adds 409 from Surfin' Safari with its roaring spin, Shut Down  from Surfin' U.S.A. plus Our Car Club and Little Deuce CoupĂ© from last months Surfer Girl album to eight new songs.

It's almost a car themed album with just Be True To Your School a single whose high school simplistic non questioning innocence soon seemed a part of a different era weeks later after President Kennedy's assassination placed as the first song on the album .
The single arrangement with its wind marching band and cheerleader interjections is very different and all time favourite.

What lifted the subject were the arrangements, vocal harmonies coupled with Roger Christian co writing the lyrics that told stories of cars and riders you could relate to.

Again this has mono and stereo mixes with 409 appearing in Duophonic echo laden stereo as it did on original lp records in the stereo portion
As America worked its way through the tremendous loss of President Kennedy - something that was just shocking at the time - America adopted and made stars of what had been a little known act in the States that was massive in their native Britain, The Beatles.

Even sharing the same record label, America it seemed embraced that act that offered hope and a new start and in some respects the musical world around American acts prior to that tragic loss just seemed dated to the point the achievements of the Beach Boy's with the Californian surf and car sound had been eclipsed.

Thus that this album would sound in places a bit tired shouldn't surprise anyone but this said an album that has Don't Worry Baby, The Warmth of The Sun, the close harmonies in In The Parking Lot and the high school sunshine of Pom Pom Play Girl can't be all bad.
Augusts 1964's All Summer Long was however a stronger album whose lead off 45, I Get Around even managed to crack top ten in the Beatles backyard and offered signs the beach boys were back although it was the last time they visited teen car and high school life.

This is the home to "Wendy", the 50's homage We'll Runaway and two pieces of high school life, Little Honda, the two wheels of teen freedom and Drive-In, that american concept where couples would drive, park up and watch a movie in a car.

This album uses the original stereo album masters so I Get Around and All Summer Long appear in Duophonic fake stereo as they always did and the mono portion still has the rough sounding Drive In and Don't Back Down as every copy of the mono lp British or American had.
This is my favourite of the bunch followed by Surfer Girl.

Each disc is a Super Audio cd  with a regular layer for normal cd playing equipment and an extra layer for higher sound quality for those of us with super audio cd players in our stereos.

To conclude this length piece, I hope I have introduced a number of albums, what makes them stand out even over fifty years on from release and what makes these discs  special.

Age Regression and Tumblr

 (Pix credits Yume Twins)
From the owner of ThatSmolGirl10, A note about my other sensational tumblr, That Boarding School Girl which was formed after several false starts in a number of reasons as being slightly more mature schoolgirl regression with kawaii and fashion posts mirroring one I had in the mid 2010's until it got axed.

It's the Tumblr that mirrors the external blog of the same name apart from not have any polly ticks on it where links to this and the other blog go in turbulent world at that site so it's probably as well anything of consequence is on an old school blog.

And I might add that Easter Bunny egg is no more as it's in me tummy!

Not for what at times feels like the hundredth time we are going around that cyclical Tumblr discourse around Age Regression, terms and inter community strife so while I was supposed to be resting I'll talk a bit about it off site.

Our differences are about our comfort zones, what we see certain disputed terms as meaning  and never at individuals on the AgeRe Camp, Sensitive Regression and Kidhearts side who are regressing because for personal reasons, like us they need to.

That's what this regression thing is actually about for all of us a means of coping with stress, trauma and certain conditions and disabilities, finding that child within and yes being comforted as many of us feel like we're headed for a meltdown.

We use different words to describe that space we enter in - heartspace, little space,Tot Space  etc are different -but the space we are in, how we feel in it and what we do is the same.

Indeed if we could look at pictures of what we are all doing we'd see the same things and sadly that is what has gone missing in the last three years of Age Regression discourse on Tumblr as all of us who wanted a break from any kink stuff while we are regressing not least if you're a Minor created or found communities.

It's like there's a whole plethora of communities some allied to clubs that basically are about the same thing just disagreeing terms and setting up picket fences to keep out those they feel may invade 'their' tags or attract the attention of those who are engaged in sexual, 18+ nsfw or kink  via a reblog.

The thing is through those people who are likely to host any kind of explicit material are less likely to that concerned that your community or mine don't want them  as you find as I do porn blogs and kink blogs attach themselves from time to time regardless or reblog your posts even if you stick a DNI on it.

You see while I strongly supported the move toward Age Regression spaces on Tumblr especially for minors and still do, for all the differing communities we made, each and every time we tried by changing our terms, making new tags that hasn't given us the totally safe haven we needed as so many did and still do mix their kink, ddlg, age play in with our stuff or decided to follow, ignoring our boundaries.

Indeed it seems the very attempt to cure this by ever stricter rules about the terms and tags we use doesn't so much solve this but leads to greater suspicion and animosity between differing communities who as I said before are doing the exact same thing.

Then we have what are seeing more of attempts to tell people who don't belong to any Community who they can interact with or face being told they cannot interact with community and clubs x, y and z any more.

That's just adding to the problem because what are individuals who regress should only need to concerned with the boundaries of other individuals they chose to interact with.

That is one reason why I am saying to people who are not in communities on the Age Regression Society side (or left) who are 100% safe for work, non sexual age regressors I have no issue with you following or following you cos we're doing the same thing even though I use Cglre terms.

Peace!

The Easter Edition

Unfortunately there is no Church thanks to the emergency and restrictions we can't have an Easter Service nor an Egg Hunt which is jolly sad really.

However emergency or not it is Easter and regardless of what some people have tried to do I'm jolly well going to mark it the way I always do.
If you were a a Fudge or LilJennie I'd hide if I were you as this bunny is milk chocolate by Britain's best chocolate people given Cadbury's has gone downhill ever since it was taken over by the Americans who've tried making our chocolate more European and I have no need for it!
This is made from decent chocolate of the sort we prefer here in the Midlands by locals and no doubt will be in my tummy by the end of the week!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!

Weekend musings

As arrangements despite the emergency to mark Easter continue and attempts to even stop the sale of Easter Eggs I have been continuing to go out enjoying as best you can the Spring.
Indeed on Friday I had to persuade a wasp to buzz off as it was attracted to my Tuque's colours illuminated by the bright sunlight as it came flying of a hedge and toward me as I was walking around.
It might of been these fine things it was really after that I thought looked really rather lovely in front of a wall on communal grass by the sidewalk.
I'm continuing with viewing Malory Towers which should start showing today, April 6th direct on the CBBC channel which all being well I should be able to get in HD as we'll of gotten a new Panasonic colour HD tv to replace the old 32" Sony.

That's wired to my Blu-Ray Player and the YouView BT Sports box so apart from seeing sporting events better when this emergency is over with, I can watch this baa'ingly funny blu ray with better quality
