Mudcrutch (Tom Petty)

The music of Tom Petty has always appealed to me  although most of that is currently on compact disc since I got into cds in the late 80's replacing tapes and vinyl lps.
Recently Tom has returned to performing and even making a new recording with his original backing group done over two weeks last August, Mudcrutch and this album released today is the outcome.
The lead off single is Scare Easy which was issued in March.
I bought the double lp version because unusually Tom has decided to make the lp have the widest difference between loud and soft sounds so while the overal volume may be low it ebbs and flows better which is more relaxing, something I approve of strongly.

Anime & How I Am

Football isn't the only thing I like to be honest, anime is another.

The thing is while I like shows such as Naruto, nearly all my anime tastes tend to be girls "slice of life" series with magical girls, school based stories and humongous helpings of cuteness.

A show like Lucky Star set in school with uniforms is very much my thing and really it is a clear cut indication how much a adult little gurl I am that I seek out and enjoy such animes.

At long last this is being marketed in England!

Cute looking Japanese chocolate on a biscuit stick with a small portion uncoated to make handling a less sticky affair.
Now if we get the fruit flavoured Pokey more readily available here it would be great.

Fashion II

Following on from last weeks post that was kindly commented on, it's time to really address a topic that lies at the core of this blog from it's original conception and the added "Pre-blog" entries from the old notes and diary entries.

One way of looking at my battle with my own sense of identity is to look at it from where it was at it's most decisive, my time in school and being predominately little is to see it in  terms of wearing the school uniform I'd of preferred.

I enjoy wearing pinafore dresses and skirts as part recreated uniform but that is not the whole of the life a little girl.

Why should I not outside of "school" be really feminine just like any other little girl, just as I wanted to be at the beginning?

Why shouldn't my skirts be frilly, adorned with pretty bows and flowers?

I have no use for a boys purse never mind a man's wallet.

I should have a pretty ornate lacy purse that any self respecting girl would just love as a matter of course to go with any given outfit.

There is no real place for me to be anything but feminine going forward.

Fashion

The spring fashions here have been interesting not least the popularity of Pinafore Dresses in a variety of differing lengths and materials. There a staple of my 'little girl' self image.
Here's one I recently bought which has a cotton/elastene top part (the Pinafore), the lower is portion is jersey in a just above the knee length.
It ties up at the back.

There are other kinds of littles fashion that call out to me though such as the kind that are more casual or playwear such as this:
It's very frilly dungaree with sown in blouse with a pretty pink bow with pink frills on the outer legs of the shorts part. I'd love to be in something like that.

Childhood fiction

One author whose books I grew up with was Enid Blyton who apart from writing who character based series also wrote a number of short stories and one off pieces that have been collected over the years.

This collection assembled by Dean's and Son's in 1965 and in an early 1970's reprint is typical of it being a mixture of short stories, poems such as The Wind and  a few extracts from The Children at Happy House written in 1951.
This is my original copy which I treasure.

Self care and looking after your needs

This week as this is a kind of an online journal of mine I'm looking at coping strategies cos as this girl I have my ups and downs emotionally, sometimes from what I've done, sometimes from other people and you need to take some action to look after your mental well-being.

The start point is get to a place we can think straight about the problem and what matters  as sometimes we attempt to manage things that truly we cannot and put our efforts more into those areas we can.

That can make us tired and grumpy.

It's fine to be ambitious, have targets to work towards but they have to respect your needs physically, emotionally and spiritually.

It's also important to remember you make your own path on this journey and so it's fine to ignore others that are based on their needs and abilities.

False comparisons are an emotional killer.
