This year had on the face of it started off on a bit of a high as an offer had been made to do some external training at work. I've never had an issue with training or even education in it's broader sense but this was a course taking in being able to do presentations, knowledge around disability issues and legislation and communications skills.
The idea had been really about equipping staff to deliver external training to a very high standard but for me at least it was more about finding more of myself and exploring the idea of a change of direction as I feel underused as a resource and very alienated toward the management system that had changed beyond all recognition since I first joined.
I've enjoyed the lectures, working on projects and am sure I'll get a good result when the whole thing is marked.
As to what the upcoming year brings I don't know but I sense I wish to make some changes to my life.

Something is happening to me [Pre-blog]
I don't know why but I picked up from Argos the all new catalogue from a mail order company just started up called Additions, something I've never really bothered with in the past.
Past for some reason seems to be the word because I've been staring at a grey pinstrip skirt for over an hour who looking at myself in the mirror as it looks a bit like a part of a posh schools uniform and I keep on thinking about what it was like.
This is it, about 18 inches in length with a small side slit, not a million miles removed from a high school or private collage skirt.
I want it even though I'm not sure quite why other than this experience feels good to me so I filled out the order form and attached a cheque anyway.

Late vacation [Pre-blog]
I'm away again before I start studying for a course in a few weeks time at work and today I caught a bus to Caernarfon - the 5X - from where I'm staying to visit the Castle built by King Edward.
I find vacationing very peaceful with the idea of packing and unpacking reminding me of the rituals of the boarding school I attended and indeed seeing the local school children in their uniforms brings it all back to me.
We visited the shops, a tea room and had a meal out although later on he had to fight off the Seagulls after your Ice Creams and other food.

Llechwedd vacation [Pre-blog]
It's vacation time for me.
We went here, at least in part cos I have a childhood fascination with slate and also cos I like the fresh air loads.
This is the entrance to the main cafe and shop of the museum where you can get tickets to go underground to the slate mine where it's extracted from. Mommy and I have tea and biscuits but all of a sudden I'm feeling like I'm nine or ten wanting to hold her hand for security.
They even have an old fashioned sweet shop on site too and it reminds me of the times I bought sweets in the same way way asking for them and the shop owner making you a bag of them up.
In the background are the mounds of slate from the past and in the foreground a rail line and steam train used to transport slate at the time.

Unicorn day [Pre-blog]
It's a special day for me but I'm thinking about something else today, something I read stories about when I was younger, Unicorns, and I think this drawing is very apt.
